Tepoztlán is a Mexican town south of Mexico City. It is known for being the birthplace of Quetzalcóatl: the Aztec god represented with a feathered serpent; as well as for its weekly craft market.
A steep path leads to the Aztec pyramid of Tepozteco, which sits high on a hill above the city.
You can also find the Ex-convent of Tepoztlán which is a former Dominican convent from the 16th century that has a local history museum and the adjacent Carlos Pellicer Museum which exhibits mainly pre-Hispanic art.
